About Me

A Spring Sweater

I am counting down the days until spring arrives. I can’t wait to pack up my winter boots, jackets, and scarves. While spring doesn’t usually necessitate tank tops and flip flops, I do enjoy wearing beautiful pastel colored short sleeved shirts at this time. To stay warm during the cool spring mornings and nights, I often slip on a colorful sweater over my short sleeved blouse. Sweaters are a great way to bridge the gap in your wardrobe between the cold winter months and the hot summer months. If you currently don’t own any spring sweaters, now is a great time to stock up on them. On this blog, you will learn how to find the perfect sweaters to match your spring shirts. Enjoy!

Time For A Change? 3 Tips to Keep Your New Natural Hair Wig Looking Its Best

by Anna Obrien

If you're tired of having just one option for your hair style, it's time to add some options to your life. It's time to invest in a natural hair wig. Unlike wigs made from artificial fibers, natural hair wigs are made from real hair, which means they'll look, and feel, just like your own hair. Wigs allow you to change your hairstyle and color as often as you'd like, without dealing with the salon. To help you care for your new natural hair wig, here are three tips to keep it looking its best.

Take Care When Styling

When it comes to styling your natural hair wig, it's important to remember that you can use your normal styling tools, including your curling iron and blow dryer. However, before you start heat styling your wig, you should apply a heat protective spray, much like you would for your own natural, hair The heat protective styling spray will allow you to achieve the look you want without damaging your wig hair. You do need to know that if you purchase a wig made from synthetic fibers, you won't be able to use heated styling aids, or you'll destroy the fibers.

Give Them a Good Washing

Your natural hair wig is going to get dirty, just like your own hair. When it does, you'll need to give it a good washing. Turn the water on to warm, and place your wig in the flow of the water. Apply a small amount of shampoo to your hands, and gently massage your wig, lathering up all the way from the roots to the tips. Once you've lathered up the wig, carefully rinse it in clear water. Place the wig in a soft towel, and gently squeeze the water out of the hair. Be careful not to wring though. You could damage the hair.

Keep Them Conditioned

You want your wig to maintain that natural luster, and manageability. To do that, you'll need to give your wig a good conditioning treatment about once a month. If you wear your wig daily, you'll want to condition it about once a week. After shampooing, fill your sink with cool water, and add about a tablespoon of conditioner. Place your wig in the water, and allow it to soak for about 10 minutes. Remove your wig from the sink, and gently squeeze the water out using your soft towel. Place your wig on a wig stand to dry.

Keep your new wig looking beautiful by using the simple care instructions provided here. For more versatility with your hair styles, be sure to purchase a few different wigs. That way you can change your hairstyle more often. For more information, contact The Next Step.
